Our Code of Values

We are government officers with Punjabi roots, serving the people of India in every service, at every level and in every state. We come together to celebrate our heritage of seva, hard work and hospitality, to stand by one another and our families, and to give back to society. Our duty to the nation always comes first. This fellowship is where we share friendship, culture and service.

1. Nation and service first

“My duty to the Constitution and my service rules always come first.”

  • Members follow the conduct rules of their own service in everything they do with the Fellowship.
  • Fellowship activities are social and cultural, and take place in members' personal time.
  • Where a member's service rules ask them to inform their department about joining a social organisation, they do so.

2. Integrity in all we do

“I keep official work in official channels, and bring friendship and goodwill to the Fellowship.”

  • Official matters are always handled through proper official channels.
  • The Fellowship offers fellowship, mentoring, and guidance on general and personal matters such as relocation, education and retirement.
  • Members who meet in an official setting keep it professional, exactly as their service rules require.

3. Above party lines

“I help keep the Fellowship a non-partisan social and cultural space.”

  • The Fellowship works for culture, welfare and seva, and stays neutral on party matters.
  • Fellowship platforms carry Fellowship news, culture, achievements and welfare.
  • An office-bearer who takes up a political role steps down from Fellowship office.

4. Respect for all

“I treat every member with equal respect, whatever their faith, community, gender, rank or service.”

  • Punjabiyat here means language, culture and heritage. Every faith and every community is equally welcome.
  • Women members, young officers and colleagues of every rank have an equal voice, including in leadership.
  • Events and online spaces are safe and dignified for everyone, and an Internal Committee is available for any concern.
  • Inside the Fellowship every member is a colleague and part of one family.

5. Seva and sahyog

“I support fellow members and their families in times of need, and contribute to seva where I can.”

  • Members help each other with relocation, medical emergencies, bereavement, children's education and settling into a new city.
  • Senior and retired members mentor young officers and aspirants from Punjab.
  • Members give back to society through voluntary work in their personal time.

6. Trust and privacy

“I use member information only for Fellowship purposes, and share it only with consent.”

  • The members' network exists for fellowship and welfare.
  • Members' contact details stay within the Fellowship.
  • Personal data is handled under the Fellowship's Privacy Policy and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

7. Transparency

“I support open and transparent handling of the Fellowship's funds and gifts.”

  • Gifts given in the Fellowship's name are symbolic, such as a siropa, shawl, memento, book or sapling, as set out in the Gift & Sammaan Policy.
  • All funds pass through the Fellowship's bank account, are audited every year, and the accounts are shared with all members.
  • Donations and sponsorships are accepted in line with the Fellowship's financial rules and the law.

8. Shared responsibility

“I help uphold these values and welcome the guidance of the Ethics Committee.”

  • Any member can share a concern with the Ethics Committee, which handles it fairly and in confidence.
  • The Committee listens to everyone involved and guides members in keeping these values.
  • The General Body reviews these values at least every two years.
